Why I started the Business

Taken from Greek, Agapé, means love or charity. I started Agape Tutoring out of my love for teaching. Instruction, and its concomitant caring, is in my very being. My aim is always to impart knowledge, spark an interest in learning, and promote confidence. I will work toward understanding your student(s) and listen to your aims and goals for them. I also wish to support and encourage you, the parent, in this educational journey. As a homeschool mom of a neurodiverse student who is now a college graduate, I will use the same consistency, commitment and creative approach with your child(ren) that led us to success in learning.

About Me

Educationally, I have a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and a master’s degree in Exercise Science. Science has always been my passion, but I also enjoy math and its strategies.

In my recent past I have taught ESL and GED Math learners at Rio Salado College for 3 1/2 yrs. I began private tutoring/instruction in the Fall of 2023.

The current focus of my private instruction is working with neurodiverse learners. As a result of my own daughter’s neurodiversity, I am familiar with and have experience with a variety of curriculums and approaches for children with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia.  My current students are making progress and learning to be great at math. It brings me great joy!

In the Fall of 2024, I will be instructing middle and high school learners in Algebra and Geometry as part of the United Collective co-op in the West Valley.  Check them out here: unitedcollective.org

My availability varies but I do have openings M-Th during the daytime 9am – 4pm. Please contact me to discuss scheduling.
