Join the Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program, a highly regarded overnight summer camp experience designed for teens ages 15–17 who are ready to grow as leaders. This immersive sleepaway program combines classic camp traditions—like cabins, campfires, and outdoor adventure—with hands-on training in communication, teamwork, and leadership.Participants learn by doing through interactive activities, group discussions, and real camp responsibilities, helping them build confidence, independence, and strong interpersonal skills. The program is designed to support personal growth while preparing teens to become role models in their schools, communities, and future workplaces. CITs gain valuable experience that strengthens college applications, resumes, and early career pathways, while also forming meaningful friendships and lifelong memories. Many participants are invited to return as volunteer counselors, where they can continue developing leadership skills and earn community service hours. SJYC is proud to be <ESA-friendly. Transportation is provided from Phoenix to camp and back (space permitting), making it easy to participate from the surrounding area.
