About Me:
I was born and raised in Northern California, and spent my younger years in private and public schools. After high school, I enrolled at the University of Arizona in Tucson, but moved back to California after three years to complete my bachelor’s at California State University, Sacramento. In 2011, my wife, Brittney, and I relocated to Phoenix for her career, and we have never looked back. Once in Arizona, God blessed my wife and me with three beautiful kids: Delani, Chloe, and Tommy. My wife and I decided that I would be a stay-at-home-dad.
In 2018, I was ready to get back to work, so I started substitute teaching at the middle school level a few days a month. Almost immediately, I realized that this is what God had planned for me. I enrolled at GCU, and continued to teach throughout my master’s program.
Upon graduation, I began teaching 7th and 8th grade Social Studies in the Kyrene School District. I had my own classroom for 2 years, and quickly found that there are some fundamental problems with public education that could not be fixed without major policy and leadership changes. Instead of continuing to be a cog in a broken machine, I began to develop the idea of building a support system for families who were willing to take control of their children’s education. The idea of a hybrid tutoring-classroom program developed into Moreana Boys Academy.
When I’m not navigating the world of education and entrepreneurship, I enjoy taking care of my yard, golfing, woodworking, and going on road trips with my family. I am also a huge Dodger fan, and rarely miss a game.
